Re: ANNUAL GOALS & RESOLUTIONS

Wade,
I plan on doing a clinic on slack line casts and mends next year for the SSFFC. Keep an eye on the Kern site for more info. The class will be geared for strong intermediate to advance casters. You need to be a member of the club, and the clinic is free.

Re: Closing the Books on 2013

Jimbo, The last time I was there in 1984 you could catch fish like this. http://i305.photobucket.com/albums/nn235/one2use/bigfish_zps01cb83d0.jpg This pig was caught on a streamer. I’m not too picky when it comes to fishing for trout. I plan on fishing the L Owens a lot this season. And if we are lu...

Re: Patagonia Riverwalker Sticky Rubber wading boots--UPDATE

Bill, I went swimming on the Henry’s Fork a couple of years ago also. But it wasn’t because I slipped, I was crossing the river and it just kept getting deeper until I was unable to stand on my tippy toes. At that point I just said the * with it and swam the rest of the way. I was wet wading a...

Re: Patagonia Riverwalker Sticky Rubber wading boots--UPDATE

Rubber sole wading boots have a long way to go before they will provide traction like felt when wet for an old and not so graceful guy. Maybe if I was Shane’s age and had the agility and balance of a 20 year old, and could jump from rock to rock I might use rubber soled wading boots, But I can’t do ...

Re: Hey Jon S, What happened to Lower O Flows?

Just got back yesterday after 2 days of 0 flows with several 13' and one great 17". Contrary to belief I was catching on larger WD40's size 16, 14. when picking up rocks the caddis were very large and fat. Don't worry about the flows. just go… and visit David. Just nymph the larger deep holes....

Re: The most innovative fly rod........

When it comes to casting, it's not about the rod! A good caster can make any rod work. A lousy caster with a great rod will still be a lousy caster. So what if you're like me; a lousy caster with a bad rod? I guess there's no hope for me. There is always hope, it depends on how much you want ...

Re: Hey Jon S, What happened to Lower O Flows?

I hope the DWP turns the flows back on. I plan on going up next week and zero flow is a bit low for my style of fishing. ;)
