If you live close to the LBCC, there is a group of guys who are hard core spey casters out on the pond most weekdays from 11 am to 2 pm. They are a very helpful and always will spend time with a new guy.

I have seen people break their rod tip just by the way they string it up. The correct way is to rap your hand around the tip and pull the line straight out and away from the tip. Incorrect way is hold the rod away from the tip and pull the line out at a right angle from rod tip.
