Re: Noah, I want you to build an ark

Truly a work of love and I'm sure you'll have many adventures floating many stretches of river. You may not think it perfect, but most woodworkers are too quick to find flaws with their own work. For a first time build it looks great to me. Good luck finding rowers. I fished from a fully equipped wh...

Re: Posts

I also seldom post anymore, but I do visit often and check in to see how things are going in California. Since I moved to “Kansas” I haven’t felt I have much to offer to the gang down south as few, with the exception of Papa make it up north. Oh, there are a few who’ve moved here and we fish quite o...

Re: There's a hole in our hearts....

Jim,
I just saw this and was deeply saddened to hear about the loss of Chris. Josh’s tribute was very heartfelt. My deepest condolences are with you now and during the coming days.

Re: Yellowstone Bans Felt Wading Soles

Both types of soles have their purposes. If I'm hiking I like the rubber soled boots, for wading, felt if they're legal. I've busted my * too many times with rubber soled boots on the Klamath, Trinity, and rivers in Kansas. I'll take felt for wading, and felt with tung studs for rivers with snot cov...

Re: Miss Nona

What a beautiful net and one of the best ways to remember your Grandmother. I'll bet she was one grand lady and know she'd be tickled pink to see this commemorative in her name.

Re: Suggestion

Like most posting here, I find FB boring and too much crap about things I care little about. I also don't find photobucket that difficult to use, but then, I'm not posting much these days and I am rarely taking pictures of any fish caught. I haven't even taken a camera out the past couple of trips. ...

Re: Our New travel trailer

Congratulations!! That's awesome! So the trailer was for all your fly fishing gear, but what did you do with all the house stuff? briansII You're right Brian. That 28 foot trailer wouldn't hold all the fly fishing gear, so I had to throw a couple of rods into the back of the 4 Runner with the house...

Re: Our New travel trailer

Congratulations. Enjoy this next season of life. Thanks Richard. I've actually been retired (sort of--no regular have to go to job) for 6 years, but the wife has been continuing work until she FINALLY decided to retire this June. We've owned our place in Idaho since 2010 and spent a lot of time the...

Re: Our New travel trailer

If you don't mind me asking, what was ABF's fees? Fees are reasonable in my estimation. Door to door from SoCal to Boise was $1945 for 17 feet of trailer which they say is enough for an average 3 bedroom home. It's an additional $59 a foot for over that and (-$59) each foot if you use less. We also...

Re: Plans....

Hope the trip works out better than the pre-trip did. More important, I hope you all have fun and find car camping enjoyable. I seriously doubt you see a bear and probably definitely won't see a Mt lion, but wouldn't it be cool if you do/did?

Re: To Dry Fly or Die?

Very interesting discussion. I've been out of the loop for the past few months prepping a home to sell and helping insure a daughter's wedding went off with as few problems as possible, as it was located in the hinderlands of Idaho where the nearest "real" community is 54 miles away. Hopef...

Re: Land of Enchantment

Nice digs Curtis. I'll bet Tammy and the little guys enjoy it. Albuquerque is a neat town. Have you ridden up the tram yet? Oh, and the combat fishing on the SJ is a kick. Below Texas Hole isn't generally nearly as crowded. ADDED: I went online to check out EDO. Hadn't heard of it but after looking,...
