Re: Tenkara rods

Looking at the Maxcatch webpage I clicked on the contact us link. They are located in China. I don't know what shipping from there will cost you, but that would be something to consider in the cost of the rod. Many good products that go though a quality control department come from China, but for $5...

Re: Passing of Westlake Dave

I'm sorry read of your father's passing. I haven't been on the board for a couple of years due to not fishing much after our granddaughter was born, and to read that you lost you dad was a sad way to come back. I too always liked your posts, reading about the adventures you both had together. When I...

Re: Tenkara rods

Tom told me you were asking about Tenkara rods so I thought I'd give you my two cents. My wife and I have been fishing TenkaraUSA rods since 2009 when Daniel had just started his company. We own, just guessing, 10 rods from them. If Daniel made it, we probably have it. I broke my Ito a while back an...

Re: Ok, so hear me out............

If you don't want the reel on the rod, buy a tenkara rod. He was fishing perfect water for a rod without a reel. Simple and effective.

Re: Tippet rings

I've been using them for years. Can rig without them now. Well I could but I get in a bad mood. ;) I have a bunch on hand all the time and I highly recommend them. It's so easy to change tippet and the nice thing is you never cut the leader unless you break off at the ring.

Re: Carry weapons while fishing

I thought about this several times and contemplated carrying my 9MM, but just haven't done it. If I were out in the back country I probably would but locally where I'm probably more likely to be assaulted or worse, I wouldn't. At least not at this point. IF I were to hear of someone getting assaulte...

Re: Fly Fishing the Upper Kern

Sounds like Golden Trout Wilderness Pack Trains .com. The intro there reads just like this one. Don't you just live free advertising on the forum.

Re: Opinion: Waders

Have you seen the new Orvis waders? They're convertible. You can turn them into pant waders.

Re: I thought I would share with you a pic from my favorite

If I'm right about the river, a couple weeks ago. Saw fish but had only one hit. The water level was pretty low.
