Re: Super Raffle 2016!!

You guys really need to buy up tickets. The last two raffles we had for CFR & PHW went to the same guy in New York. Really nice guy and I will say he buys a ton of tickets each time. Plus he does a lot of work for the east coast PHW chapters. But, I want to fish with the person who wins the raff...

Re: 6 year old Fly line....... leaders/tippets

Stored in your vest, in the closet? Nice climate controlled area? I would say good to go for this trip ;) You might want to think about replacing some spools eventually. Especially your final tippet to fly spools. That is your deciding factor in 99% of your line breaking situations. I don't believe ...

Re: Congrats to Sierra-Nets

Uh oh.... better expect a price hike!!! There will be no living with him now  I am fortunate enough to have one of his heirlooms in my possession. If you haven't seen one of his nets in person, well let's just say there is a reason he won 1st place. One word: Flawless. Congrats Greg. :bananadan...

Re: Paso Robles flyfishing areas??

Be very careful of blueline fishing in SLO county. Most of our waters are closed to fishing. Typically it is fishing permitted west of the south bound lane of the 101 and most of that is Wed, Sat, Sun and legal holidays for a couple of months and this time of year isn't those couple of months. FYI: ...

Re: Orvis Guide Sling Pack

I just received my Vedavoo sling pack ( http://vedavoo.com/shopping/tightlines-sling-pack/ ) and it is the real deal. I did upgrade with the deluxe pouch but this thing was made for fly fishing. Only draw back I can see is there isn't a built in holder for a water bottle. But, with this pack being s...

Re: The End

Glad I'm not the only one. Been carrying a staff for several years and have always worn a wading belt. Fell once on a small stream and couldn't get my feet under me for about 50 yards. Beat my backside to pieces and fill the waders with ice cold runoff. I guess its a 50+ thing. Shoot, fishing the su...

Re: Flybox Labels

Yes, I put labels on fly boxes and use to do it on rod tubes, but I fear I have grown lazy on the tubes. And yes labeling works . Had a lost box returned to me and returned a lost box. Also have a box I found that was never claimed without any label. But, that was way before the internet.

Re: Sunglasses Help?

Their called Croakies boy. You know that little lanyard that holds your glasses around your neck. Good way to keep your favorite glasses from getting broken, scratched, or letting some fish wear them. I second the glass lens, especially for perscription glasses. Have had my perscription Ray Bans for...

Re: SSFFC FOTY Pete!

Thanks everybody. Been working extremely long hours on nightshift and didn't see this. It's easy to be the FFOTY when your club supports your projects 110%

Thanks again,

Re: Ok, so hear me out............

You have to give people credit for thinking outside the box. Guess I am too set in my ways to even think about trying one. That probably would work really well for some of the Project Healing Water participants. Reminds me of Rene Russo in Tin Cup where she has all the golf gizmos attached to make h...

Re: The most innovative fly rod........

For a traditional builder, like me, it is hard to look at. But, new innovations don't come without pushing the limits into uncharted territories.

Can't see myself giving up on my glass and grass just yet though.

Re: Carry-on rods & reels???

Most airlines have a length limit for carry on. It is dependant on the airlines. Do a quick search for your airlines and most of them specifically mention fishing rods in their web site. Personally, I have never had a problem with my 3 or 4 piece rods.

Re: SSFFC 2013 PHW/CFR Raffle

FYI: Held the drawing last Saturday night at the SSFFC Rendezvous. Had about 60 witnesses so everything was on the up and up. And the winner was........ Bill from Tonawanda NY. Name sound familiar? Well it should. Bill was the same guy who won it last year. Wonder what the odds of that happening are...
