Re: owens river in winter

Fire is under control, unfortunately, it did more than cramp peoples' style. Approximately 40 homes were lost and it could have been much worse if the last storm hadn't hit when it did. Hit the Lower Owens on Saturday and fishing was good, so, come on up.

Re: owens river in winter

Well there's a giant fire across the highway from the river at the moment that's cramping everyone's style, so I wouldn't come up in the next day or two without checking containment status, but generally, winter is one of the best times to fish the lower owens and there have been some big boys comin...

Lower Owens Stream Clean-Up

If anyone is going to be in the area on Saturday Feb. 7th, there is going to be a steam clean up sponsored by various concerned organizations. Anyone willing to lend a hand would be greatly appreciated and would obviously do good to help preserve the fishery we all love. All info is contained in the...

Re: Stranger in a strange land

Cullen,

Welcome to the board. I live about 3 hours south of you in Mammoth. There is plenty of good fishing where both of us are and many points in between, if you head down this way, or if I head up that way, we should meet up and do some fishing.

Re: New etiquette for the Lower Owens.

I'm not going to come on here and flame this guy on a public forum (I'll let everyone else here form their own opinions). What I will say is that he and his clients were parked there first and when we saw him, the first thing we asked was where he was planning on fishing with his clients and stated ...

Re: Andre is moving to Mammoth Lakes

Thanks for all the well wishes everyone! Anybody coming in to town that wants to fish just send me a PM. It will probably take me some time to get the area dialed in and figure out what info I get is share-able and secret so I don't immediately get branded a "hot-spotter" by the locals, b...

Re: Fellow Addict needs our help. Stolen Fly box

BTW ... Many flies came in fly boxes and many came in a large mash, so when I have a chance to have my own little personal sorting party, I'll post some pics of everyone's generosity. It's really quite impressive. Again, THANK YOU ALL.

Re: Fellow Addict needs our help. Stolen Fly box

Yeah Mark, that *stuff* really chaps my *hide*. Now that all of you replaced all the flies I lost several fold, I will definitely be back on the water soon.

Re: Fellow Addict needs our help. Stolen Fly box

Hey Everyone, It's funny, I was totally surprised at the FFCOC meeting tonight when Greg handed me a bag full of fly boxes and a ton of flies. Since mostly all I have been doing on the board lately is quickly dropping in and looking for "fish *" I totally missed this thread, which of cours...

North Coast

Hey Everyone, I'm up in Fort Bragg (CA not NC) for a job interview. I'm trying to recon the area and I kinda want to fish my way back. Anyone know much about the area or have any suggestions about who I could contact? I'm really hoping it's not as bad as "Rivers of a Lost Coast" made it ou...

The River Why (Movie)

Has anyone actually seen the movie version of The River Why? I saw on The Chum that the dvd was available and I was thinking about ordering it. However, I really don't really want to drop $25 for it if it's a disaster.
