Re: Don't Drink the water

About 5 years back, I was walking along the east fork of a local river and ran into a guy that came out of nowhere wearing camo pants and t-shirt with a machete strapped to his waist. I just kept walking and minding my business. I'm assuming that he was involved in agriculture.

Re: First catch

Catching trees, weeds, reeds and bushes will improve your casting greatly. The next learning curve will be figuring out how to set the hook. We all get lots of hits, but it takes a while to get the hook setting skill.

Re: Duckdog doing great

I know a couple of guys that did the same. Duckdog should be good as new in no time and glad that he did the procedure.

Re: Good folks at the Spot

Agreed.

I recently needed sinking tips and new flyline for Bass fishing. Could I get it cheaper online....yes but I chose to buy it from Marriotts. Plus I like spending an hour wandering around looking at stuff, checking out the latest rods, reels, talking to the shop dudes etc.

Going to BC Canada

I'm leaving next week for Cranbrook BC Canada to fish the St Marys and Upper Columbia rivers. We fly into Spokane and cross the border and stay in BC. We have a guide set up for 2 days for drifting and wading. Looking forward to the trip. I'm wondering if anyone has fished the area or has any knowle...

Re: Lost a FFA Member

Really sad news!

I met Shane at a Marriotts event a while back and talked to him for about an hour about reading water, when to fish, where to fish and learned to tie a couple of basic surf flies.

Great guy, tons of knowledge, unpretentious, easy to be around.

Shane will be missed.

Simms Warranty

Just a product endorsement. Last couple of times that I wore my waders, I noticed leaks here and there. I tried to fix them myself but the seams were starting to leak. I'm headed to BC next month to fish and needed dry waders. I sent them to Simms and got them back 3 weeks later with all the pinhole...

Re: Is the Site Slowing Down?

Personally speaking it's my 13 yr olds weekend Water Polo games, my 17 yr old and her car problems and her college visits, the college application and finance process, wife finishing a Bachelors degree and buying a 55 Chevy that seems to take up the rest of my time. I still get out occasionally and ...

Wader repair

I've repaired every pinhole in my waders and now have a leak at the seam where the bootie meets the pant leg. Anyone have experience with Simms wader repair. I'm curious what the turnaround time will be.

Re: Closing the Books on 2013

Fished the surf a handful of times, caught Halibut, Spot Fin and Perch. Surf has a large learning curve, I plan on doing more of this but first I'd like to hire a guide to help me read the surf. Fished Vail Lake for Largemouth and had a great first outing. Went back again last weekend and got skunke...

Re: Sage LL

I'll echo BaughB. My LL is my favorite dry fly rod.

Buy it, you'll never regret it.
