Re: ID Insects/Entomology - Pocket guide suggestions?

I've got a good pocket book called "Hatch Guide For Western Streams," by Jim Schollmeyer. https://images-na.ssl-images-amazon.com/images/I/51CVlN39PPL.jpg I second the Schollmeyer pocket size book BUT it only comes in hard copy, no digital. Pictures are so helpful Jim

Re: Short rods- 6'- 7'

I will post follow up reviews in the GEAR section as I use the Redington Classic Trout 7'6", 2wt. Too much wind and blowing snow in past few weeks to use a 2wt.

a Decision

Thanks to everyone for the input. You helped me realize that what I wanted was not where I started- or maybe I still need a short rod just because. FIGHTONSC- Jeff, after your post I remembered I have my first fly rod; a circa 60's, 7ft Eagle Claw 6wt fiberglass plus the reel & line that came wi...

Re: Short rods- 6'- 7'

Wow Luc nice fish! Think I like the looks of the Winston too. I'll agree to most of the points here the shorter 6'6" rods for me cast great but as mentioned think they fall short in line control. Currently I've been using a Redington 7'6" 2wt classic trout and like it maybe more than the ...

Short rods- 6'- 7'

I want to buy a 6' to 7' 2wt or 3wt to cast 10' to 25' just in case I fish some small water this year. Not sure if I am being smart trying to buy the best tool for the task, or I am being old and cheap, or if I am considering a manual transmission Ferrari (or a raised 4x4) for use only in stop &...

Pakayak- 6 piece 14ft kayak

Not a review, since it is very new on the market. 14ft hard shell ocean kayak is 6 pieces that latch together. Broken down it fits into airline size luggage. Assembly takes 3 minutes. The concept is interesting and it appears they are actually shipping, but price is $1,800? Might be good for RV or f...

Re: Keep the rubber side down

Nice job. Looks just like Outcast sells.... Only problem with single wheel is when rolling a loaded boat-- I always have more weight on one side than the other and the 1 wheel was hard for me to balance.

I like BrownBear's idea of a fat tire

Zee, link to an article that discusses several methods including use of WD40 and one that finally worked for him: using a ziplock bag of ice on one section and a ziplock bag full of hot water ON the other section. http://www.florida-guides.com/florida-guides-association/fishing-tips/116-unsticking-f...

Re: Shuttle by eBike or Bike?

Why do I want to take the bike with me on the boat? I am thinking about being in a Sprinter style RV without a car. To be able to leave the RV at a campground and use the bike & trailer to go to put in and from take out.

Shuttle by eBike or Bike?

Anyone hauled or hauling their inflatable from take out to put in and floating back with the bike on the boat? I am especially interested in folding electric bikes since at 68 I'd rather conserve all my energy for fishing. Any brand/model recommendations? Used ones are in my $$ range. A big concern ...

Recent Dive Trip

While strolling round the harbour this morning about 7 am, after a dive, I noticed a character shouting "Allah be Praised" and "Death to all infidels" and suddenly he tripped and fell into the water. I finished up packing all my diving gear in the boot. He was struggling to stay ...
