Re: Putah Creek Fishing Report (Pics)

Thanks for sharing. What a great process. Looks labor intensive. I've fished Putah once, a few winters ago, and had a good day. Saw some of the big ones caught but wasn't lucky enough to get one of the big ones. the little ones were fun.

Re: Can you see me now?

Interesting! It looks purple and blue to me. Jon, are you color-blind and is a friend playing a cruel joke by giving you a purple and blue reel and telling you it's brown, green and tan camo?

Re: Wildfly's Sock

I've got to get my eyes checked. I first read the title of this thread as Wildfly's Sack so I was a bit reluctant to open the thread up. To my relief, we are talking about rod socks here, so make it traditional forest green.

Re: The Best Creekin' Rod

No questions... the Winston Boron II T 7' 9" 3wt. is my Small creek Rod of Choice... Just as Light (if not lighter) then the Sage TXL series.. Boron is ragingly light weight.. I have ton's O' Fun with the Typical Small creek Dinks, but when the Very rare Big One takes, the 3wt. has the Kahunas...

Re: The Best Creekin' Rod

I love my Sage TXL 00wt for small creekin' I've got a couple of creeks that I can actually lay out a nice cast (25-30ft) in without snagging bushes behind me and the Sage TXL 00wt is a joy to cast under these conditions. I also like how it roll casts. I don't really enjoy crawling thru tight brush w...

Like Gary, I didn't see this instruction until the check was in the mail. Rather then in the lower left hand corner, look in the upper left corner for my screen name ;) ;) ;)

Re: Fly Reels

Played with many and even considered spending more than I wanted to. Ended up with the Ross CLA 2 copper. Felt nice in the hand, sound and appearance were appealing to me as well. Reel balances out with my Loomis 9' 5wt. Thank you all for the thoughts and suggestions, was a "reel help! I'm gla...

Re: Moving on

Good luck with your move, Barrie. Central Florida should give you lots of opportunity to fish. Lots of fishies out there that you can't catch in California. Keep in touch and, if I'm ever out that way, I hope to wet a line with you for some of those hard pulling Florida salt water species.
