Re: DIY Bugger Box

WB,

It's just regular 6mm craft foam from Hobby Lobby. Pink was the only color left.

DIY Bugger Box

http://azwanderings.com/wp-content/uploads/7-Fill.jpg I know these DIY Bugger Boxes have been done before, but thought I would pass along this link to some super cheap Flambeau boxes. The shipping is a bit steep but if you get a couple it evens out pretty good. Check it out - https://www.flambeauca...

Re: Catarafts

That's what I'm talking about. Now, I'll be spending the rest of the day talking myself out of buying those 10' 6 pontoons.

Re: Catarafts

For what it's worth Benny, I have a 9' pontoon and was pretty happy with it on the Colorado, but my buddy had the 10' 6 pontoons from Dave Scadden and there was a bunch of pontoon envy while floating down camp. Instead of one cargo frame, he had two. So not only did he have more room for gear, but h...

DIY Vehicle Fly Rod Holder

http://azbythefly.com/cache/diy_rod_holder_01_images_articles_diy_vehicle_rod_holder_thumb_medium8000_8000.jpg I'm sure you've seen those expensive vehicle rod holders. My buddy Jason who runs AZ by the Fly built one for under 20 bucks and it is rock solid. He put together this awesome DIY tutorial...

Re: Tippet rings

I use them on my furled leaders. Makes it so easy to change tippet and does not impact the cast or "floatability" of the leader.

Re: Fueled Leaders

Key points. Make sure the mono is stretched and relatively straight. When twisting, use light pressure at the pinch, like the video suggests. Too much pressure and you get uneven twists. Don't try and get the twists very tight. There's definitely a balance of too loose, or too tight. Keep the two l...

Re: Fueled Leaders

Just saw this post (thanks clee for the shout out). I make and sell furled leaders on my website. I like to make them out of uni-thread as opposed to mono. I think that the uni-thread leaders are softer and more subtle although I like to use mono or fluoro ones for pike and bass on a heavier weight ...

Re: Where do you have what?

This summer I switched over to a Mountainsmith Day TLS. It's a great lumbar pack but one of the reasons I love it is that the strappettes help to distribute weight. Many lumbar packs sag or have only a shoulder strap, but you can buy these extra straps from Mountainsmith that balance the whole thing...
