I guess it gets to the point of fishing for sport vs. taking a finned "Betsy the cow" trout to the dinner table. I am not trying to put down this style of fishing because I do see value in getting kids, families to the great great outdoors instead of sitting in front of the boob tube or Xb...

Fiberglass can have a lower Modulus of Elasticity than Bamboo, i.e. It can be more Noodley than bamboo.

I did observe that catching larger fish (or spunky little ones) the rod helped in absorbing the shock of the fish taking off protecting the tippet from breaking with the lighter tippet materials, a definite plus in my book. depends on the water...Lake or river? I would say a waterlogged adams.... It can handle both a lake or stream...Clip off some hackle to sink more.

High country lake would be the sparkly emerger Dave (WatchingtheWater) ties.
