Low Cost CNC Chinese Reels???

I fish with a 6'/2wt. in my my local streams a lot and think you really need something just a bit better than a empty toilet roll to hold your line with those limited set ups. I bet those reels would do the job if they had any quality at all.

Re: CDFW Lands Pass...*??

This is California....they can proclaim you need this or that but they don't have the resources to monitor the fishing and hunting.....let along walking along a lagoon. Like the US Forest Service day pass, no one in the agencies put much stock in them. They just don't have the budgets. The monies n...

Re: CDFW Lands Pass...*??

It sorta looks like a tax to use public lands. On top of what I pay in taxes already. That's what it seems like. I wonder if every effort to cut waste in the present budget was looked at or just throw a tax, I mean a fee, I mean make a Pass mandatory.

Re: Schaefer Fire

This was on the Kern River Fly Shop dated 7-11-17 Sherman Pass is closed at this time due to a fire (Schaeffer Fire) 50 miles north of Kernville and 10 miles past the Forks of the Kern. The forest service fire report says the fire is 17 miles north of Kernville and this is incorrect. Yesterday, fire...

No matter where on Earth with or without cell service you can send text or email. It also pings as little as 10 minutes your location.

Re: New Book - Redband Trout Waters

I am working hard to convince my wife that Oregon is the place we want to retire. I bought the book after some research and found the authors background was in photography. What the * right, not that much money and I might learn something. We had already planned on spending Thanksgiving week zipping...

Re: LA Times Article on the East Fork

And, I'd stress again, this is not limited to one particular group based on race, culture, etc. It's based on ethics and morality. I saw some swastikas and 88's (gang culture for Heil Hitler) painted on the rocks in DC. I'm guessing they were not hispanic... I think this point needs to be set high ...

Re: LA Times Article on the East Fork

I think educating the public can only go so far. The ones that get it I think get it early in the process. I truly understand that language may be an issue but again I think that is only a small part of the problem. I think the biggest perpetrators don’t care what they’re doing to their planet. They...

Re: 2012 Lee Wulff award winner- Guy Jeans

I believe a very deserving award. Guy has done a lot to keep fly-fishing alive in the area. Something that in these times and in So Cal is no easy task. Never met the Guy but have in a roundabout way been able to reap the rewords of his efforts.
