Re: enamored

I spent years fishing with a cheap 4wt. then a couple years on the same water with an super expensive 5wt. now I fish the same waters with a slightly less expensive 3wt. The fish don't seem to care. Mitchell[/quote] My father in law's point exactly - and I agree. But after fishing with a cheapo 3wt ...

Re: enamored

wow -that was fast. Thanks Guys. I'll check out the Zenith when I test out the winston. I would never turn down a sage - but I have a few and am looking to diversify. As far as how it will be used, definitely nymphing. I'm also hoping the extra length will help me control the drift better when tryin...

enamored

Somehow I'm in this terrible situation where I have little choice but to buy a new rod. Last October I snapped the tip off my 9' 4 wt. XP-III. Sage has agreed to make a new one. Of course I have not sent it in yet... AND my brother is flying out here to hit the east side with me soon. I'm looking fo...

Re: New Fly Rod Opinions?

It sounds like you might be looking for a heaver rod than you already have. That said, I've enjoyed using my 9' 4 weight when fishing up there. Then again, I kinda enjoy using that rod every time I use that rod... :)

Re: Keeping Secrets

I don't really see the benefit of naming names. However, dropping names can certainly be detrimental. Then again, I only post pics of small fish. :o That oughta keep the riff-raff away, eh? Just tryin' to do my part...

My Secret Spot is Gone!!!

Bummer john. My childhood waters were wiped out a few years back from a thousand year flood in the Nashville area. The whole river is completely different. Still fish - but the "spots" and places I knew are gone. Hopefully you will be able to see your spot come back again.

Re: knots

Thanks for the post... I often struggle to figure out some of those knot diagrams - and I review drawings all day at work! Regarding the unfortunate finger fish - did that this summer too. Just a few days prior, I read all about pulling a hook with fishing line at the bend using the correct angle, e...

Re: I've been wasting my time !!

One time I even put the rod down, took a *, and then landed the fish. Thank god for brabs!! What a *. Whats the point if easier ≠ more reward? I also don't understan...

Thanks everyone for making me feel welcome. I'm glad to finally be able to contribute (a.k.a.fish). With the kind of fall I think we are going to have I hope to "contribute" as often as possible. One question, it seems my photos are pretty large. Do most of you guys use the "small thu...
