San Diego Fly Fishing Clubs

Anyone on here a member of the San Diego Fly Fishers Club or the Golden State Fly Casters Club? I miss my FFCOC people, but I need to find a club or two that closer to my area of exile.

Re: Fish Attractants and Fish sense of smell

I goop this on all my flies. Sometimes they get foul hooked because their patented "sex attract" gets the fish all wound up and they try to do something other than eat the fly. :bananadance:  :bananadance:  http://i177.photobucket.com/albums/w229/jazznfishin/CraveG...

Re: Contest Time

Not a secret spot by any stretch of the imagination, but it struck me as a beautiful view when I reached that spot.

Re: Exiled in El Centro

Congrats on getting the job. I'm a fairly new teacher, and I know how tough it can be to get your foot in the door at a good school or district. Stick with it, and hopefully good things will come your way. As far as fishing goes, I've never been to the Salton Sea, but the reports for this past spri...

Exiled in El Centro

So ... It's been quite awhile since I've posted here on FFA. I spent pretty much all summer looking for a teaching job and there is good news and bad news on that front. The good news is that I got a job teaching middle school and elementary school band and orchestra. The bad news is that it's in El...

Interview near Bakersfield

I'm up a little past Bakersfield for an interview for a teaching job. If all goes well I'll be needing some of you locals to show me around the Kern.

Great Times at the BBQ, Potluck, and Casting Games

First off, I'd like to thank everyone involved in setting up this event. I had a great time and learned a lot of new skills thanks to the creativity of the casting course. It was great to meet a bunch of fellow addicts and enjoy everyones' company and food contributions. I brought my friend Pat (who...

Re: I need help!

Hey Ariel,

I'm not a Mac expert, but I've owned a Mac for years and have never heard of this happening to someone with a Mac. If you have or had Apple Care, I would give them a call. They're usually pretty cool about helping out.

Re: Fly fishing podcast?

Fly Fishing on the Web's "Fly Fishing Weekly" podcast is a lot of fun. Sometimes the guys sound like rank amateurs, but it's rather entertaining. It's kinda like sitting around the campfire BSing with your fishing buddies. They haven't recorded a new one in nearly a year, but there are are...

I won this fly reel in a raffle ... anyone know anything about this brand/model? It's a Kumasama KF-1100 Fly Reel for 10 and 11 weight line. http://i177.photobucket.com/albums/w229/jazznfishin/SDC10138.jpg http://i177.photobucket.com/albums/w229/jazznfishin/SDC10139.jpg

Re: Fantasy Retirement Locale for Fly Addict

Check out http://www.findyourspot.com . They ask a few questions and then spit out a dozen or so locations where you might be happy. For us, things like mountains, good medical care, ample outdoors opportunities, a vibrant arts scene, a college or university near by, and at least one brew pub &...
