Re: Finally pulled the trigger....

Sure have come a long way since the first Bucks Bag I purchased about 25 years ago. I think it was 79.95, awe those innertube days. Even further, my sister bought my dad a canvas float tube back in '73, it was just a cover for the tube with a seat & suspenders, no back to lean against, no pocke...

Re: ScrewOn Indicatiors by Air Lock

I bought one at Yellowstone Anglers last month, it worked great. You have to get used to them, my guide went to adjust it & dropped the * top, found it but then didn't seat it correctly & it kept sliding down. I had to reseat it & it stayed. Yes it is a bit heavier than a thingamabobber ...

Re: Costa Corbina 580G Optics

Don't do surf, I would suspect you'd want a color lens different than copper. Ask a shop that caters to surf or West Marine, they carry them.

Re: Costa Corbina 580G Optics

I got a pair a few months ago, their website has quite a selection of frames & glass/plastics. When visiting retail stores they did not carry that many styles but the website was pretty good to find out which were for me. I have a small head/face & you could zero down on that feature. I call...

Re: Newb Intro - East side specials

Let me quess, the 1st few pics were the upper reaches of Nantahala River. My uncle lived in Franklin. In the late '60s I went down for a visit (from Pittsburgh) & he drove me along the river. The next day he dropped me off at the bottom & I hitchhiked up to the top, 2nd car picked me up, guy...

Re: Optics, Sun glasses, Shades...

My retainers are Chums Mono-Orbiter, got them at Troufitters, when worn the back of the strap does not ride on you neck like regular croakies, tends not to catch on your shift collar also. Looks like Costa makes something similar, C-Mono Retainer.

Re: Optics, Sun glasses, Shades...

I've owned the same pair of Ray Ban's for over 15 years. I've replaced the lenses every few years, perscription changes. The frames are great, very durable. I use a stiff nylon/mono retainer while fishing. I've always thought if you buy a good quality set of sunglasses that you won't lose them, you'...

Re: The Geezer Hatch...

Yeah Tim, I read that this morning too, good read. I didn't serve, got a # in 1970 but was never called. Lots of anti stuff going on back then, didn't want to serve, too scared. Nowadays I appreciate those that did.

Re: Landlocked salmon

Great time of year time visit that area, never fished for Salmon so I can't help out there. My parents lived in So NH I took my GF (now wife) back east to meet them in early Oct. A fun drive would be the Kancamagus Highway that goes from western NH to Conway in the White Mtns. Be sure to visit North...
