Re: New etiquette for the Lower Owens.

I had a guide put a 10 yr old 10 ft upstream from me on Hot Creek, I wanted to start yelling profanities about how this is NOT the way to teach the young how to fish! Pat guided a friend for his Bachelor party, he more or less told everyone to go downstream & he would take his client upstream to...

I did start to get into another same colored vehicle at Sierra Trading Post in Meridian this summer though.........[/quote]

This happened to me a month ago, couldn't figure out why my code wouldn't open the door, thought I'd fat fingered it. Mine was accross the aisle.

Re: Flex Spex - Optical Aid

Update on Flex Spex; the pair I bought 1 year ago broke. I had tied on a size 24 minutes earlier & while casting @ the interpretive center on Hot Creek, a gust of wind & my fly got tangled in the loop-to-loop connection. I went to pull the glasses down & the right lens was gone. I sent F...

Re: Hello from Pasadena

CalTrout's Golden Trout Survey's - Is that the one where you volunteer & they pack your gear & food in & you work Fri - Mon. I'd have loved to do that in my younger days. Are you going out of Lone Pine or Krenville. When you fished Hot Creek (in your vid) I see you were fishing "the...

Re: Andre is moving to Mammoth Lakes

Hey Greg, When Andre calls SuddenLink for his ISP & cable TV, if he get an installer named Wes, that's my son, Wes Pracht. Tell Andre to say he is a member of Flyfishingaddicts. Hit that hole on HC where I netted that brown in my Salmo Trutta net, stick around till you get something big, it alwa...

Re: Orvis Guide Sling Pack

I just bought the Umpqua Ledges 650, waist pack, fits a ton of stuff, 3 compartments. I have 2 large fly boxes in 1 compartment, 3 medium boxes & 1 small box in the middle compartment & leaders & stuff in the 3rd. It has a shoulder strap that I attached my new Sierra-Nets net to. When yo...

Re: Knot Video--Davy Knot

Were you using fluorocarbon tippet? I find some knots don't like the slicker fluoro. The above test was done with a line I seldom fish anymore. It seems VERY sensitive to knots, and will slip if you don't have enough turns. All the Davy knots that broke, ended up with a "pigtail". Possibl...

Re: Knot Video--Davy Knot

I used the Davey this past trip, saw the vid & it made sense, practiced it while sitting in front of the computer to make it easier on the stream. Maybe I'm not tying it right cause I lost a lot of flys where it looked like the knot came undone. I ended up going back to the clinch.
