Just hire a guide, like David, to take care of all that terminal hassle. I'm sure he would gladly assist an old man. :D I had to eventually go the bifocal route the last couple of year, too. I stilll have problems occassionally. I tend to crowd the eyes of the flies I tie or fill them with head ceme...

Ariel, Funny you should mention batteries dying on a Kern fishing trip. I took Rich to Fairview a week ago Friday and had the battery die in the parking lot. Fortunately, the kind folks at McNally's graciously jumped my RAV and we drove back to Bakersfield. I shut it off when I arrived home only to ...

Re: Place to stay in Mammoth?

Snow Creek resorts will let you have one night free if you stay three. Three of us used a 1 bedroom with a loft and made out well. Condos are furnished with all the cookware needed. SAfeway across the street. Much nicer accommodations than the "6", althought their on-line rates ought to be...

Re: Can this happen here????

Additional thoughts to consider... without government subsidies, alternate energy sources are currently NOT economically viable and probably never will be. Case in point... Spain is nearly bankrupt from paying out subsidies trying to go "green" with solar and wind alternatives. The more we...

All current production and drilling in CA OCS waters takes place on fixed structures (platforms) with all well control equipment on surfac...

Re: Question about Calif Fishing Regs - placement of weight?

Not sure, but the Reg reference appears tobe for hooks greater than 3/4" gap and combined weights of 1/2 oz or greater?
