Re: Turd Clumps

I was thinking that maybe they are balls of mud, debris and that underwater moss - the bright, almost-neon green stuff thats really stringy and thin as thread. I dont know. Whatever it is, its disgusting knowing that one of those things are coming up. And whats worse is, I've gotten so many of them ...

Turd Clumps

I've asked this question a couple of times in the SALTWATER section - with no responses I assume because very few people read the salt section. So I'm posting it here. Anyone know what these things are, seriously? I call them "turd clumps" because that's pretty much what they look like. No...

Re: Don't Drink the water

Reminds me of "that place up there" (you know where I'm talking about). I spent more time watching the surrounding hillsides than I did watching my Adams Parachute !

Re: A reminder that they are out there....somewhere

I'd love to find some of those down here. It would give me hope. Unless there's a miracle holdover puddle out there, I'm afraid our county has lost all of its wild trout population. Just too much drought. But totally glad you guys are seeing the flies. Its amazing !

Re: Hmmmm...

From me too. Since you dig the salt and you may need someone local to head you in the right direction :bananadance: , let me know if I can help. I'm in SD and have recently fallen head-over-heels for SD Bay salt after four decades of nothing but small creeks, streams, and wild trout. Always ready to...

Re: Going Stir Cray-Cray (the cool way to say "crazy")

Go for it! That's why the fishing elves invented rain gear and fleece longjohns for waders. Here's a bit of encouragement. Got a nice surprise yesterday while wading for redfish here in sunny Florida--- in spite of a windy forecast. Sometimes the weather guys just get it all wrong. The wind was slo...

Going Stir Cray-Cray (the cool way to say "crazy")

I feel like so much time has simply been wasted. Rain, rain, rain. Ya, we need the rain. But the weather is getting in the way of my new salt float tube passion ! Tomorrow and Thursday look promising. As long as there's no dampness on the driveway and no icicles hanging off the eaves, I'm going. I'v...

Re: Advice on Off Road Rescue Gear

Mike, Probably just my 2WD Ranger. Most sources I've found say a high clearance 2WD should not have a problem. I'm more concerned about crossing the San Rafael just before Mike's Sky Rancho. I'm looking into best way to hook up to truck if necessary. What's the brand of your strap and how long is i...

Re: Advice on Off Road Rescue Gear

A good recommendation on a tow strap would be good too. I have to cross the San Rafael, and it may be flowing well after this winter. John I assume there will be a 2nd 4WD vehicle along with you? I have a great recovery strap and two clevis joints that you're welcome to borrow. No need buying them ...

Re: Outcast Fish Cat 4 LCS Deluxe

Uhhh... pretty please? :) No need to ask you have my address just send it when you get it. Jon I know you would, Jon. I'm so forever grateful for everything you've done to help get me squared away with the salt. I have no doubt that some day soon I'll get another Echo and send it off to you. I real...
