Re: Here is a guide for You!

I just don't get it. What would posess somebody to send an e-mail like that? Especially a business person looking to draw in clients. I know in custom rod building your reputation and word of mouth can make or break you. Guess that doesn't fly for guides  ? Not sure what her target client grou...

Re: Here is a guide for You!

I was just going to say, I would prefer April. Here is the thing it is not that April is prettier, though IMO she is. This is about a demeanor they project in their images. April actually seems like she would be more pleasant to spend the day with. There is certainly no questioning the passion she h...

Re: Here is a guide for You!

Really, from this thread that is the response you got from this guide. Am I missing something? Granted being a woman guide in a boys club I guarantee she has put up with lot of crap from male anglers. Unfortunately by growing a thicker skin and learning to deal with A-holes she has become the thing...

Re: Grey haired, curmudgeons???

I think fishing with people of any age is not a problem. The problem comes after the fishing, say around ten o'clock when the young guys bring out the beer bong.

Re: A Friendly Reminder

When I was out with Treecatcher a couple of weeks ago, I discovered my water filter system had disengaged from the straw. This was after I had consumed several long drinks. Long story short, I'm at Kaiser typing on my Droid as I wait for some giardia medication. Be careful out there. On the bright ...

Re: A Great Read.. Everyone Here should read this!!!!

I must have started four different replies and deleted them all because this is one of those topics for around a table either in a backyard or bar.......with booze. That way when I say something that is taken wrong I can explain better what I meant which I can't do in print. LOL And even if the guy...

Re: A Great Read.. Everyone Here should read this!!!!

It always boils down to what the "Market will Bear". MONEY...Profits...Brand Names...Marketing Hype...Capitalism. Example: A Shop sells ONE High end rod (HIGH profit margin) and makes a couple hundred in profits. The same shop will need to sell (5 maybe?) of the under $100 rods to make th...

Re: cheaper alternative to Aquaseal?

Duluth trading company has this stuff called sail tape. I am wondering if that will work on a pair of waders I have that have a tear and no amount of aquaseal has ever been able to repair it.

Re: For a Beginner...

That Redington combo is a nice deal or it was a year ago. I haven't checked. However when you get it check the leader to fly line connection or set him up with a handshake loop. On the ones they were selling last year they did a poor job tying that knot on the models they sent to the shops.

Re: For a Beginner...

I think something you want to consider is a rod that is easy to cast and feel the load on. Not sure how that will work with a three wt. My first rod was a quest rod from LL Bean it was cheap came fully loaded with line and even leader attached. The line was a bit heavy in the front and the rod had a...
