Re: Check out my Woodie...

Pro: Nice Long Handle
Con: Cup...I mean hoop might be too small. ;)

The hardest part is measuring the inner hoop diameter and then trying to find a suitable replacement net.

Re: Check out my Woodie...

Mark, As an update, I was in an Idaho Youth Ranch Donation store today and saw 3 racquet ball rackets for $2.50-$3.50. They all had the large teardrop shape and certainly looked like flyfishing nets with the addition of a different set of stringing. Sure gives one pause. Where did you get your net ...

Re: Check out my Woodie...

Some Recommendations: 1) All modern rackets are graphite composites. They are very light. The only disadvantage I see is if it gets dinged up, you might get some fiberglass splinters. 2) The Aluminum rackets from the 70's/80's would work great too. 3) Rackets come in 3 main head (Hoop) sizes: Standa...

Check out my Woodie...

My Prince Woodie. I was also in need of a net with a bigger hoop and a longer handle than what I have for float tubing. I was thinking of what comes close to the same size as fishing net? Well, I use to play a lot of tennis and have old rackets laying around so I bought a Brodin replacement net for ...

Re: nothing but net

I have had the same problem float tubing with a need for a wider hoop, longer handle net. I will put a post together with a DIY project. The short answer: Used Oversized Tennis racket and a Brodin replacement net.

Re: What's on your menu?

I usually stick with Mountain House dinners. Take your pick, Stroganoff or Chili Mac for Breakfast and dinner. A little freeze dried kim chee thrown in. Add some miso soup, and/or the spicy ramen to rehydrate. What I HAVE TO HAVE is some good Italian salami...Yum..all that fat, salt and peppers. For...

Re: Do you use a water filter when fishing or hiking?

In the Sierras high country above the horticulturalists elevations, I use the Steripen, basecamp filter, and/or hand pump almost anywhere from a stream, lake, or spring. Anything at or below horticulturalists grow areas, I try to drink bottle only or filter from a spring. This applies especially in ...
