Re: Just a nice Quote...

Great sentiment. It took me almost sixty years to get to the fly fishing stage (and fly tying a bonus). Very few things in my life now are so challenging and so enjoyable. Thanks for finding that.

Merry Christmas and a New Year's Resolution

Here is hoping that each of you enjoys Christmas with family and friends. My New Year's Resolution is to post one trip report a month for the year....which means I have to go fishing at least twelve times. I am so thankful for all those who have patiently nursed me along and showed me the ropes and ...

Re: To Those Who Have Served

Luc-I can only imagine what a parent goes through with someone in the service. The reunion will be a sweet one.

Re: Sabrina Basin mid October?

My advice is be prepared to walk on snow and ice. Weather should be starting in the cycle of Pacific storms. Not sure when the lakes start freezing over. Guessing fish might be stocking up before the winter freeze.

Re: Rush Creek Video

Great memories, Jon. Thinking the same thing about getting together again....both at your place and maybe a fall waterside deal. Not sure about Photobucket but I see them without any filters. As always, reading your posts is like being there.

Re: Unfortunate last sight...

Fire is buttoned up and the Team is handing the fire back to the local agencies. Had great potential....the safe fuel model there burns like gasoline. (Fire near Elko Nv has burned almost 500,000 acres in similar fuel models). The entire West is primed and ready to burn. Hoping the prediction of an ...

Re: Unfortunate last sight...

They just closed all access to to Whitney Portal and everyone who had permits to climb today. Biggest concern is that folks will skirt all the road blocks and climb the trail anyway. Fire has possibility of going big.

Re: Fish Don't Live In Ugly Places

They are still there in spots, I'm sure but it is getting harder and harder to find them. I need to finish about ten reports that I took 500 pictures on but never got on here. Rumor has it, that you might be looking towards Kansas as a possible relocation site? Looking forward to meeting you in per...

Re: Fire caught on Sierrawebcam.

Notice might have been given on either Inyo or Sierra NF websites. They would be burning piles as the snow goes away and things are still moist up there.

Simple way to tie a Blood Knot

Anyone who knows me knows I can be challenged tying knots. Lots have tried to help me. I struggle through them. Ironically, I made my living in a career where knots could mean the difference between life and death or injury. Check this out and let my know what you think. https://news.orvis.com/fly-f...
