Re: Do you clean & dress your flyline?

Ok, I am in the occasionally group. Am I reading the line maintenance link that Planettrout posted correctly? As in there is not really any reason to dress the lines? Or it is wishful thinking on my part. That sure would make things a lot quicker than using my SA cleaner and the little foam pad. Wor...

Re: SSFFC 2013 PHW/CFR Raffle

Jimbo, The out of state comment was mainly to try and get some of the local tight wads to pry open the wallets :pot: . I am happy to send the package anywhere to the lucky winner. Last year it went to Tonawanda NY and he has purchased an amazing amount of tickets again this year :bananadance: . Than...

Re: SSFFC 2013 PHW/CFR Raffle

Bump: Remember folks this raffle is wrapping up pretty quick. Things have changed on the SSFFC site as far as the PayPal details. Apparently we are gambling and that isn't allowed, so please check out: http://ssffclub.org/2013-phwcfr-fundraiser/ No worries, you can also still play via a check to: SS...

Re: Finally Available in the United States!!!

Looking like something that would work great in a survial pack ;) Sort of like we should all carry in our trucks or keep around in case of an earthquake. Wouldn't take the room of a filter bottle.

Re: Ralph Cutter Video of How Sensitive Nymph Fishing can be

Its easy to sit back and judge when you are watching a video. Its a bit different when you are the one on the water. Same as watching an instant replay and asking how could they have missed the call. I have sat and watched buddies fishing and ask how did you miss that take. 5 minutes later, they ask...

Re: Information that is too good to share

Ants,
Better go back to the yardwork and let your mind wander on another subject. I am betting this topic won't get much in the way of "secrets". ;)

Re: Same Trout - Multiple Takes? Multiple Landings?

Per my scientific study.... five minutes. That's how long it took to re-hook the same fish. How do I know? Had him in the net, when I was un-hooking him he snapped off my fly and slipped out of my grasp. Five minutes later, same run, same lie = same fish with my fly. Got the fly back ;)

Re: Fueled Leaders

Yep..... I make them but I use a homemade jig and a battery drill. They come out ok. Never had a fish complain yet. Haven't tried the no jig or tools method. Probably never will. That's a lot of twisting by hand that a drill can do in 30 seconds.

Re: Patagonia Sling Pack

How would a sling pack work out if you wear a lanyard? I got hooked on my lanyard from Copperdropper and won't give it up. Things are just too handy. But I really like the thought of a sling pack for surf and small stream trips. Usually I only take a couple of fly boxes on the water. If I was more t...
