Re: Busted Butt Creek......The Epilog

Nothing better than feeling better. WOOHOO I have been using a wading staff for years. Saved my butt more than once. Justify carrying it by putting some really long liars marks on the staff and claim that your rod just didn't look right with the longer marks.

Re: Down & Dirty

This might be a question for Flybob, but you are all welcome to answer ;). Since I have never caught a rod breaking worthy fish I'll show my ignorance and ask... why keep the rod low and in the water? I think I know, but I need to hear it from the pros.

Re: Looking for a float tube

"U" or vee tube. Much safer if you have a situation on the water. Way back when.... I was in my doughnut style tube and it sprung a leak in the middle of the lake. Made it back to shore, but if it would have taken a few minutes more I would have been in a sticky situation. Go breathable. W...

Re: Catch and Release Techniques / Do's and Don'ts

If you use a net, use the right net. Avoid hard nylon or nets that are knotted, even kotted soft cotton. They do a great job of removing the protective coating on a fish, especially Trout. The netting Greg uses on his nets are perfect for protecting fish. Plus that type of net material/ configuratio...

Re: Where is the threshold of pain?

Short answer to your initial question I am betting we break to $1K zone, for a plastic rod, within a couple of years. Simple sales plan....as long as buyers are willing to pay the price the makers will be willing to ask it.

Re: online flies

If you do go the online route, from an unknown, do a couple of things before you fish the flies. First off put a dab of head cement on each fly and second clean out the eye before you hit the water. Both will save you some time and frustration on the water. Poor whip finishes and head cement (if use...
