Cleaning willow sap off flyline?

I have a couple sticky spots from willow sap on my flyline, mostly dried up by now obviously.

Any tips on washing the line or cleaning it? I know this has probably been covered, just thought maybe some dishsoap and warm water might do it.

Thanks for any advice,

John

Re: Bummer!! Need tip on taking stuck ferrules apart???

Papasequoia,

Maybe my dad and yours were friends, because he taught me the exact same procedure, even the slight twist. This was the back in the days when we had metal ferrules of course. Cork grease for instruments works too.

Re: WARNING...Don't Go Fishing With flybob!

Just pour a little scotch on it, and ingest a bit for the insides as well. Hope to see you this year at the HM opener, I'm looking forward to it again.

Re: Whether or Not the Local Creeks will Weather the Weather

Native trout in fire areas can be wiped out by debris flows. A strain of natives in the Santa Ana area (forgot the creek name) was wiped out a couple years ago when the creek filled with fire debris. I used to fish a creek in Ventura County (Hopper Creek) that had an awesome wild fish population yea...

Re: Good Camping/Backpack Knife

I read that the P38 is called the "John Wayne" because he made a training film demonstration of using it properly.

Re: Good Camping/Backpack Knife

Actually, I lean more towards anarchy. I checked out the SAK lineup, they have a model called the Recruit that has can and bottle openers, and two blades. That seems perfect for me, just needed something when car camping to open a can once in a while and a basic blade setup. I have a smaller Leather...

Good Camping/Backpack Knife

Trying to find a basic camp knife with decent blade and can opener (not bottlecap) included. Don't really want a swiss army knife, but seems like most folding knifes don't have a can opener function (only bottle openers). Any recommendations from the backcountry folks???? or just use the old P38?? J...

Re: The Backpacking Angler

I got the backpacking bug last year after a trip to the KR carrying about 25lb. using a pack I bought in high school (1974) and a heavy synthetic bag. That was still a lot of weight, so I now have it down to: Pack: 1lb 5oz (GoLite Jam2) Bag: 1lb 7oz (30 degree rated, 800 down, Lafuma brand) Pad: 2lb...

Re: Trip Meals

I bought a bag of "Darn Good Chili" plus a 7oz pack of shredded beef at the supermarket. It's found in the soup aisle, yellow package, forgot the brand name. Stuff was delicious and weighed very little to pack. Definitely going to be a staple on backpack trips from now on. The hot and sour...
