Re: Best prescription glasses?

Colorblind - oops, I forgot.

That situation puts things out of my realm. I wonder if there is a analytical approach, or it is try - and check for results?!?

Re: Best prescription glasses?

Per DrCreek-

I guess this is what you had in mind. The frames and lenses were $74 back in the early 70's. Numerous lenses have been installed. Maybe I got a lifetime warranty and didn't know it.

PS This version has bifocal lenses.

Re: Tanuki Tenkara and general tenkara comments

I saw this posted on the classic fly rod forum and thought it was too funny not to post here.

Buying a tenkara rod is like buying a monkey, it seemed like a good idea at first.

Tanuki Tenkara and general tenkara comments

I first tried a tenkara rod 4-5 years ago and bought my Tanuki Ninja Tenkara Rod about 2 months ago. My review comments cover the Tanuki rod and the tenkara community. The Tanuki Ninja is 11 1/2 feet long, comes 8 segments and weighs mere ounces. I purchased a package deal that included a floating l...

Re: Inflatable Raft/Kayak recos

For the Kern River, floating and fishing is a option for a limited season. For the Lower Owens, the river downstream from Laws is better for floating, but launch and takeout sites are limited. I have not floated in my driftboat since it is hard to tell if I am committed for 3 hours or 6 hours (as an...

Re: Inflatable Raft/Kayak recos

As for my perspective on the Kern and Lower Owens, here goes. The upper and lower kern are serious whitewater that requires a hard kayak, a soft kayak, or a raft. The household fleet includes a very nice wooden drift boat that would suffer from the rocks in any section. The drift boat is a great pla...

Re: A Huge Lesson

Thanks for relating the details, but I am sorry / enlightened to read about them. Seems like all the decisions were all the best. There are strange characters everywhere. I hope it all turns out well with Chris and your dealings with the DA.

Re: CDFW Lands Pass...*??

My my my! Such venting about a trivial fee. When your cable bill or health insurance goes up, do you show the same enthusiasm. Everyone seems to think all the improvements in programs should come at no additional expense. Well, not me! If the State thinks a few or a few hundred dollars will help, go...

Re: Thankful for Everyone on this Board

I have enjoyed the addicts community and look forward to more of it. It is nice to know friends that enjoy having a fly rod in their hands.

I try to do my part and post information about my backyard - the Kern.

Good holiday cheer to everyone!!

Re: How to create a report with pictures

Here is something to watch for. I updated my phone to IOS 11.1.2 just before heading out on a trip. My phone and iPad and computer are linked using photos. But, the thumbnail photos didn't appear on the iPad. The iPad photos wouldn't upload. What happened. The software update changed the default set...

Anyone tried this sonar device?

https://deepersonar.com/en For about $100 for the cheapest version, this tennis ball sized device can be cast / drifted to a location and bottom depth, shape, and other fish finding applications. The sending unit sends a wifi signal to a smart phone (app required) to display the results. I can think...

Re: Bye bye, Photobucket

I certainly wasn't left out. I got my eviction notice also. Since I am not a big poster of photos, the impact is minor. But, the prospect of trying to go back to prior posts and amending for prior PB usage is a nuisance. Time will tell as far as prior posts. As for the next posts, I will give the up...
