Check out the Brains of the various species you wish to target.. if the Olfactory region of the Brain is sizable, like in a Catfish's brain, then scent will be of great importance to them in seeking out food. Jon, Your "Fuzzy Streamers" would be a good choice to target these Huge Redears, as they tend to feed deeper then Bluegill do. sizes #8 & #10 in olive, rust & Black....

Nothing off the top of my head ... But I'd suggest you contact directly Nature's Spirit, Rocky Mountain Dubbing, Ewing hackle and some of the other such companies, they'd be the source for such information as they process their own birds and hides...

How do trout anglers see their backing??? Turn the reel on it's side and stare at the backing thru the porting holes..

How do Saltwater Anglers see their backing??? Hook a Fish and watch the flyline followed by the backing melt off the reel at warp 12...
