I just found this out, there is a chane in speakers for tonights meeting. Copied from the email that I received from th VP of the club. Bad News and Good News "Adventures in Bluewater Baja -- Flyfishing the Edge" As our April speaker, Bill Becher, told me on Sunday night. He had bad news a...
Wow, Thanks alot for the well wishes. I have a broken knee cap and some road rash. I am just glad that I always wear gear, like a helmet, leather jacket and gloves. I will have to have surgery next week sometime to put the kneecap back into place. Kind of wierd looking at the side view of the knee a...
From where I live the mountains are a beautiful sight! Looks like an off weekend for me fishingwise, but hopefully all of this snow puts the snakes back into hiding!!!
What is it with the Lower O and it eating peoples nets? I lost mine in the lower O above PVR powerhouse in the gorge? If it's blue with the numbers on it and has a black foam handle, it might be mine, I lost it earlier this month. Sean
I always buy the passes. I always get the annual pass and a second vehicle pass. One for the motorcycle and the second for my truck or a vehicle that I could be traveling in. For me it's less hassle to pay for the pass than it is for the ticket. I was reading one the San Berdo visitors guides and it...
Went out for a quick ride today, snow looks great from the Riverside area.. After breakfast at the local dive eatery, I went back into the house and lit a fire.. Its cold out too!! I love the snow covered mountain views from the comfort of my house. Looks like another day of fly tying!!
I had the 8 ft 6 inch 6 wt Powerply. It was an excellent rod for throwing big streamers, and nymphs. I wish I had not closed the trunk on it sometime in the late 80's. It was one of my first good rods, after decades of cheap ones because of a young family budget. Took my son up on a 4 mile hike las...
Thanks to my Dad, I have one of the older brown glass Scott Powrply rods. Let the rod do the work for you and its pretty darn nice. Too bad its a 6 or 7 wt. rod, I can't seem to use it on local waters. Need to take it up north soon.
Deep Creek Flyfishers here also... Nice to have one that meets up monthly so close. Also has lots classes for flytying, casting and a rod building class.. Want to do that, just not enough time!!!!
Excellent read, I have been guilty of holding a fish or two out of water for a little too long in the past, but I have always done my best to cradle the fish in running water until it swims away. Guess its time to take pics of the fish in the net.
Thanks for hosting this contest Mike. Really enjoyed the pics, How long is it going to take to dig the SUV out and even a better question.... How long will it take to dig the shovel out from pic 2. :) Thanks again for making the last week a heck a lot of fun for the rest of us that just had to deal ...
I will put in my guestimate at 47.5 inches.. Right now its pouring in Riverside, guess I'm not going fishing for a while Great time to tie some flies and crank up the fireplace
My Girlfriend had asked me why I crimp the barbs, Now I can show her why. Sad part is I have done that before, just once. But the fly had a crimped barb. Glad it was only your finger and not someplace else. Nice to see you were able to get the fly out and continue to catch some fish. That is a great...
I am so used to having the license in its pouch, which is attached to my cheesy fishing vest. It will probably stay there. One item that does bug me is that the fisherman that were on the fence on whether to purchase a license or not will not purchase one. Since it not longer needs to be displayed t...
Hi I have posted a few times and decided it was time to introduce myself. I usually go flyfishing in the local mountains but after a trip to the Owens River last year, I am starting to branch out. A little bit about me, I like long walks on the beach and ... oops wrong forum and my GF might get mad ...
