Hello all!
I'd like to introduce myself, My name is Artin. I've been posting on other sites for a while until some weird things happened and I got turned off by them. I still post on some but not as much as i'd like. A while back my good friend Dean from the Spot told me about this forum and I checked it out. I registered and have been lurking from time to time. I recognise some of the names here from the other boards. It's cool to see that all has not been lost and a good number of you are still posting on this site, so I decided to get in and say hello and tell you a story.
I hope you guys enjoy it as much as my lovely wife Sharice and I did gathering the content!!!
.
Here goes....
After a couple of weeks of settlin' in and getting into the regular groove of things back here in reality from our
honeymoon trip to NZ and Australia, I found myself bed struck with an amazingly painful back ache. Today I have been able to connect my wireless internet and am a bit more mobile. I have not been able to move around much nor bend over due to my back muscles tightening up and an excruciating pain shooting up and down my back!
I do apologize for the delay... but circumstances would not allow me to do so. Now that I have been able to move, I have uploaded my pics and here we go....
New Zealand.... paradise!!!! (for the fly fisherman/woman)
The landscape is amazing... no pictures can do it justice! Tall mountains, deep valleys carved by immense glaciers, rain forests to be humbled by
and yes!
The crystral clear rivers with the promise of large browns...
Just the sight of these gorgeous rivers and streams made me wanna live there!
Back drops of hills and snow capped mountains made me feel so insignificant in the whole scheme of things on this planet! WOW!
So my wife and I hooked up with a local guide to lower the learning curve for a day and man... was it a fun filled day with many a browns to the net!
Me and the Misses walking down to the promised land..
casting to browns on an incredible river which I must say was crystal clear..
The fish were not particularly productive on this stretch of water this day... but it's NZ, there are near by streams also filled with trophies!!!!
In fact the only thing I brought to the net on this particular stream was my cap that the wind had blown off of me..
So we took off and hit a smaller spring fed stream in hopes of rising trout.... as we left, some of the locals came to say goodbye to us that day,
So we arrived at our second destination minutes away from the first..... literally....
Some of the locals here came to welcome us..
And we went to work spotting fish!
Peekaboo I see youuu!!!
After some spotting to work we went... We really didn't come here for fun! All Business!
Man these guys pull soooo hard!
Here is the little guy who's cousins were hatching an the trout were rising... What a beautiful little insect...
Here is the Misses going to work.... ALL DRY FLY BABY!!! YEA!!!!
The take
The battle
The reward... the smile sais it all....
The release to fight on another day...
.
I too had a few run ins with the locals....
And we ended the day after a few more... What a day!
A couple of days later Sharice and I decided to do it again without a guide.... and here is how it went
BENDOOOOO!!!!
......
And more......
and more......
and when I thought I was done for the day, MORE!!!!
This is about a couple of hours of fishing on a different day near Wanaka,
Here is a guy who had a jumping disorder.... took me for a ride in about 8-12 inches of water.....
All and all it was a blast......Sight fishing for quality fat fish on dries in crystal clear water... What a memorable
Honeymoon with my lovely wife.... some of us are truly blessed!
Abadee abadee abadee....That's all folks! Good bye!
=)
