56 Down, 56 to Go

Postby Dry Fly Rie » May 5th, 2013, 8:06 pm

It had been exactly 56 days since I last touched a fly rod, and the loooooooooong fishing drought coupled with a stressful past few months was getting to me. I didn't feel completely like myself as work and school and coaching were starting to wear me down. I finally got out for about 90 minutes this afternoon. It was windy, cold, rainy and my hook set was off. I touched one fish (sorry, no pictures) and snapped off twice.

It was an absolutely perfect afternoon and definitely recharged the batteries. :FISHING: :bananadance:

Oddly enough, it'll be exactly 56 more days until I head up to the Eastside for the first time this year. I can't wait!!!!

Glad you got out on the water. I'm not sure I could go 56 days without fishing.

It seems to be that type of season. Lots of dry spells.....

You guys need to find a flyfishing fix that is close to home so you can go catch a few in a few stolen hours.
I have several places to fish for Bass and Perch just a few minutes from home so if I have an hour or so I can grab my flyrod and fish for 30 minutes or more and get the rod bent.

Go "east" sooner if you can. Water levels are already crap up there.

That is so true!!

I got you beat by a few days. Just got back yesterday from the eastside and the last time I was fishing was in Feb.
