Memorial Day Weekend

Postby rkfiske » May 21st, 2013, 9:10 pm

Thinking about camping/fishing this upcoming weekend for the first time in quite some time... anyone else going anywhere for the long weekend?

I was…but now I'm staying in town and BBQing with friends. Have fun!
How do you tie the fly to your hooks without killing them with the thread? I keep cutting them in half.

I'm looking at going to Kings Canyon, anyone experience the park on memorial day? I'm just worried it's going to be insane. Thinking about staying at Moraine or another of the CG's near there.

The wife and I will be at our trailer we maintain in Kernville yearound. I will probably fish a couple of the upper tributaries while they still have a decent flow.

Have fun, pay respect to all those who have fought and served our nation, and tight lines to all.

Regards,

JR :)

I didn't realize it was M-day weekend.

I told Eric I couldn't do anything, but with Monday off, I might be able to.

I thinking of going to the forks.

I'll behiking in and out near the forks on Saturday. Sunday and Monday I'm thinking about meeting my lady near Bishop. She's going up to help her brother with a booth at Mule-days. So I'm going to wet a line while they're busy and meet her/them after. Any suggestion on where I can both wet a line and avoid the crowds near Bishop? PM's appreciated. If I don't get any suggestions I probably will float the big reedy atleast 1 of the 2 days.

Thanks in advance,
Wade
I fish for my sanity. If I catch it, should I still practice catch and release?
