Urban Wildlife in Action

We have a bird feeder in the backyard for the finches, gold finches, white-crowned sparrows and doves that frequent our neighborhood. This collection of birds around our bird feeder also attracts our neighborhood cooper's hawk. Today we got to see him enjoying dinner on our backyard patio. The result is one less dove in the neighborhood.

Life is good. Eternal life is better!

Thanks for the action shots. We also have Cooper's hawks in the neighborhood. The visual evidence is typically just a flurry of feathers.
