Passing It On To the Next Generation

Postby NorcalBob » December 5th, 2022, 2:30 pm

I'm an incredibly lucky person. I've enjoyed flyfishing my entire life, my son has enjoyed it his entire life, and now it's time to pass it on to the next generation. My grandson, Charlie, just turned 5, and he's interested in carrying on the family tradition. He's not quite there yet and still needs help from Grandpa/Dad, but he's getting there. Here are some recent pics of our adventures. One of the best stories was, Charlie was fighting a very large fish, and with a little help from Grandpa was able to put it into the net. A guide was floating down the river, saw Charlie on the big fish and rowed over and high fived him when we put it in the net!

I appreciate that he's passing on the benefits of parallax when holding a fish for the picture.

Nice work!

Ki'd spoiled tho... just starting off and catching big chonkers like that?
Fishing is the most wonderful thing I do in my life, barring some equally delightful unmentionables.

So awesome. I still cherish my pictures of me as a little guy catching fish with my dad and grandpa. Of course, they were bluegill and 6-inch trout, and not the giants your little guy is holding. Well done, grandpa!

Big fun for the little man!

Glad to see that your grandson has great mentors and a fertile classroom where he can hone his skills.

Good job son and grandpa!
