Need a part for a Pflueger 1494CJ Medalist

Postby highflyer » August 16th, 2009, 6:22 pm

The last spill I took on a river I sort of slammed my rod down on a rock, reel first. I don't know the exact name of the part. But the reel retainer ring is broken and bent.

I would like to replace the part and I am hoping that someone out there has an old, beat up parts reel I could buy. The reel again is a Pflueger 1494CJ Medalist.

Any suggestions would be appreciated. PM if you have a reel you could part with.

Thanks,

Alan

Alan, check this guy's site out:

Serious Pflueger site!
How do you tie the fly to your hooks without killing them with the thread? I keep cutting them in half.

Not sure how much you want to spend(sentimental value?). There are a number of 1494s on Ebay. You might give Bill Archuleta a call, and see what he suggests. He is the man when it comes to reel repairs.
