Nothing to do with fishing

Postby fflutterffly » September 16th, 2008, 3:56 pm

My HP printer is dead. I can't download photo's from my digital camera. I have a G5 Mac. I like a printer with three functions. Can any of you computer/ printer experts make a suggestion for my next purchase?
Thank you

not sure why dead printer = can't upload photos?

i know you'll want a new printer anyway but your camera should have a cable that attaches it to a usb port. if you lost this cable or your camera is ancient you can buy a card reader that plugs into a usb drive. these are very cheap. you just take your memory card out of your camera and slide it in.

Good advice from Anacrime on connecting to download pictures. Sounds like you were plugging your card into the slot on the printer.

HP or Epson both make excellent printers that do a lot of things. I would suggest that you get a printer that has the capability of printing on DVD's or CD's. They come with a slot....you buy special print ready DVD's and they print right on the top of the DVD/CD. If you don't do any large format printing, you should be able to find something that will kick butt in the $150 range. Good luck!
