New year, new camera..and a new guy and a report

Postby tree catcher » January 2nd, 2010, 8:11 pm

Hi I have posted a few times and decided it was time to introduce myself. I usually go flyfishing in the local mountains but after a trip to the Owens River last year, I am starting to branch out. A little bit about me, I like long walks on the beach and ... oops wrong forum and my GF might get mad at me

Went out today and hit up the local water, well ok it was an hour's drive on an old motorcycle but it's still local. Was dressed up for the cold weather since the weatherman said it was a cool 45 degrees in Riverside and a frigid 25 degrees around my destination. I was worried since my truck refused to start I had to opt to ride my motorcycle. The ride up was nice especially going by the snowy area's. I start thinking to myself that maybe this wasnt the brightest idea. The phrase "Nope ma didn't raise no fool......Pa did :)" kept going through my mind. I get up to the area where the road is no longer maintained and find that it's free of snow. I continue to my destination and was rather glad that the forest service have completed the creek crossing so I no longer have to hike in. I do the presto chango from motorcycle garb to flyfishing gear and start tossing out dries. After about an hour of this I switch over to a beadhead prince and get a fish within a few casts out. He was very camera shy, something about a new law being passed in Ca about paparazzi and such, so I didnt get his mug shot. I continue up the creek and find a beer can submerged. Turns out that someone during the summer probably got upset about the beer since it was unopened. I pack it into my vest and head off. After about an hour or so I catch another one this time his lawyer wasnt around and managed to sneak off a picture. It was a great day to be out on the water and a great way to recharge the batteries. I must do this atleast once a week or I will go insane!!! at least that's what the voices in my head say :) Onto the pictures

Hah! I got a good chuckle from reading your post, a comedic fly fisher. Thanks for sharing and welcome to the board.

Cold? Heck, Sean, I was wearing a speedo and tanktop the day before! :bananadance: Gotta get you up the hill more often to thicken your blood. Great intro post and I'll see you tomorrow morning.
