.....and the water temperatures are dropping with the much lower evening temperatures. We've been dipping into the low 40s up here already, and daytime temperatures are staying cooler. Granted, the flows are very low, but there are a lot of fish swimming in the local streams.
I got out today for about an hour or so to check conditions. Here's a water temp taken at 11:00 AM today:
I threw a dry/dropper for the hour or so I fished and brought a number of fish to hand to be quickly released. Here are a couple of shots to show you that fish made it through the dry summer:
I don't fish any of the local streams in the summer due to raised water temperatures and low water, and so I generally don't start fishing them again until mid to late September after the temps have dropped. Well, it's here.
