How do you straighten your leaders?

For topics that don't seem to have a home elsewhere.

Pretty much. Might use a 2-step mono leader for nymphing once in a while, or for streamers, for for all general trout-stream work, I use the furled.
Fishing is the most wonderful thing I do in my life, barring some equally delightful unmentionables.

For those of you who used furled leaders, do you use them exclusively?

Nope, depending on where I am at or what I am doing will dictate my choice of leaders.

I use them on streams that are in a fairly straight line without a lot of twists and turns. For streams and rivers that have lots of bends, or streams with lots of rocks and other obstacles I have to cast around, I go with fluoro because it is curvier and I can cast around corners and rocks and such much easier than I can with a furled leader.

yep..they do for sure..but since i mostly dry fly fish..i have to find a bush or a tree to snag. piece of cake. it comes natural for me...

i used to use a piece of bicycle tire inner tube. same thing w/o the leather cover, but i didnt like the way it heated up the mono. now i just string the rod, attach the fly to the fly holder or handle..put a little tension on it, and the sun or heat of the day takes care of things in a short time.
