For the past three trips to the Kern and Owens I've been working on fishing without an indicator. It was time to get rid of the training wheels and step my game up. the success has been overwhelming. Just today, thursday Oct 2, I hit the kern for a day of fishing with Karen. It seems that no matter where I cast there was a fish. Understand this: I did not bring in every fish that bite, I had lots of strikes and a few refusals. All in all I had 15 fish. 3 LDR (big jumping fish) I used my Sparkle Plenty on top with a tungsten gray bead a 12" tippet with a weight about 4" above my Red Squirrel Tail. The fish took each one equally. I've had great success with my Sparkle Plenty as have a few others I've gifted them to.
Any way, the water was great, the outside temp perfect and Karen, well she was in the water and making a brave effort to be as mobile as she could. It's great to have her back on the water.
Best to all
