If you're interested in knots or need animated demo's this might be your best bet. I am sorry they didn't show the Davy Knot, created by Davy Wotton, which is quick and very reliable. However, you can find it simply by tying in Davy knot demo on Bing or Google.

Interesting that the two strongest terminal knots are the "san diego" and the "palomar."

Thanks for the post... I often struggle to figure out some of those knot diagrams - and I review drawings all day at work!
Regarding the unfortunate finger fish - did that this summer too. Just a few days prior, I read all about pulling a hook with fishing line at the bend using the correct angle, etc. Don't think I explained it well enough to my wife

While conventional fishing for bass a few months ago, I buried a barbed hook in my finger. It was deep enough that my buddy asked if I wanted to push it through and cut the barb off. Nooooo! 
I told him about the fishing line removal method. I have done it least a 1/2 dozen times before.....all on flies.
.............don't let anyone fool you. If the hook is large enough, it hurts like the * when it's yanked out.
