Wow,
Just saw that as well.
Speechless! One of the better people I've ever met in my life.. Just all around quality individual always there to help. wow.... this caught me by surprise this am.
I am deeply saddened. I really enjoyed conversing with him. Never got to fish with but shot the crap every time he was there. He had a way of explaining things, doing things.

Dennis you will be missed my friend!!!!

I took a casting lesson with Dennis when I first started out. Patient, calm, understanding. A good teacher for sure.

They only fish dries in heaven.

Rest in Peace

I spent yesterday tying with materials Dennis sold me, reflecting on what a good guy he was, and how helpful he was to me. RIP, Dennis.

I am utterly and completely shocked. He always seems the picture of heath with his tennis and fishing. This is a great loss for FS and our community. For myself, I would go to the shop and Dennis would impart information that he shared with few. He knew how much I treasured what he told me and what I learned. My day is filled with the shock of his passing.

My heart goes out to Barbara and his daughter Nicole. Dennis was one of a kind and I will miss him dearly.

Sad day indeed... I spent a few moments at the Spot with Dennis awhile back. We shared some personal experiences, showed off our scars to each other, and just spent some time shooting the breeze. Dennis will definitely be missed, my deepest sympathies go out to all of his loved ones.

Sorry to hear about this. I think I remember seeing him at the Spot on the few times I stopped in to see Dean when visiting family in Huntington Beach, but did not meet him. My condolences to all who knew him.
How do you tie the fly to your hooks without killing them with the thread? I keep cutting them in half.

I was really saddened to read this a couple days ago. You couldn't find a better ambassador of the sport, particularly when it came to tying. Dennis's role at the Spot so completely transcended that of helpful salesman. Dennis always made me feel like he'd taken me under his wing, like a master and apprentice. I imagine he made everyone who sought his expertise feel that way. Truly a loss to the shop, the sport, and the world.

I tie flies because of Dennis. My deepest sympathies to his family.
