The Calico Syndicate to Host Fly Fishing Film Festival OC

Postby flue_fisker » December 28th, 2012, 10:03 am

The Calico Syndicate is hosting the 2013 Fly Fishing Film Festival Orange County Edition on Saturday February 9th at the AMC Tustin 14 @ The District Tustin Legacy. We are hosting a small “event” in conjunction with the film festival featuring a silent auction, raffle, hosted beverages by Kona Brewing Co, a few select sponsor representatives with their products in attendance, hors d'oeuvres, and live music. A portion of the proceeds from the event will directly benefit The John Wayne Cancer Foundation (JWCF.org) & The Algalita Marine Research Institute (Algalita.org).

Join us for one of the few opportunities during the year where you can mingle with other members of the local fly fishing community in this fun filled social event at the beautiful District Tustin Legacy. You can purchase your tickets exclusively on the F3T website here:

https://www.ticketriver.com/event/5335

There will be NO TICKET SALES AT THE DOOR. Seating is limited, and this event will sell out, so please purchase your tickets in advance.

The event will kick off at 3:30pm around the Kona Brewing Co. bar & silent auction area, movie screenings at approx. 5:00pm, a raffle immediately following the screenings in the theater, and once exiting the theater, there will be food, drinks, and live music until 10:00pm. You don’t want to miss this one!

For more information, please visit the event’s Facebook page at http://www.facebook.com/F3TOC We are very much looking forward to seeing all of you on February 9th for an angling inspired evening featuring some incredible fly fishing movies.

Response to a comment in the Saltwater Board - figured I would post here as well

I also really enjoyed the Art Theater for the Fly Fishing Film tour, but unfortunately due to small size of the theater and the location it was difficult to have a fly fishing event there. I remember last year, after the show a rather large number of us went over to a Mexican Restaurant for some beers and food; basically maximizing the “hall pass”. It was cool but it wasn’t ideal since we were all spread out throughout the restaurant.

The evening will kick off at 3:30 pm with a Kona Sponsored beverage bar, silent auction, plus some of the top guides in our area will be hanging out and talking fly fishing. After the movie and the big raffle give away we will keep on going with more social hour activities including more beverages from Kona Brewery Co, food and live music. For me I personally think this is more of an event rather than just a viewing of the show. We all get to hangout in the same area, have some food and drink, and talk fly fishing. This event should really maximize the “hall passes”.

BTW, all of what I described above is included in your ticket for the film tour. Personally I think this is a huge bang for buck event that should be really cool.

Any comments or questions just let me know….hopefully you can make it

Thanks
