Our New travel trailer

Postby midger » August 22nd, 2016, 5:42 am

Not an airstream but this one will take us to the land of many trouts..............Finally and permanently. We've been living part time in California and part time in "Kansas" up north. Sold the California digs and this travel trailer will whisk us out of the state.

You did well, Mike!

One 28' load, just like us. We sold or gave away a ton of stuff to fit everything into one trailer.

Bet you're glad it's finally over.

Tricos have still not gone off on the Big O yet and the South Fork is still running at 1,700 cfs.

See you soon,

Jeff

Nice Mike!
Fishing is the most wonderful thing I do in my life, barring some equally delightful unmentionables.

Fees are reasonable in my estimation. Door to door from SoCal to Boise was $1945 for 17 feet of trailer which they say is enough for an average 3 bedroom home. It's an additional $59 a foot for over that and (-$59) each foot if you use less. We also paid loaders $500 to shrink wrap furniture and to load and secure the trailer. We did all the actual packing of boxes, which I have to say sux but we wanted to glean through 30+ years of "stuff". We threw/gave away lots of "stuff" we no longer wanted or needed. Not sure we ever actually needed a lot of it.

We hope to pull out of SoCal on Wednesday, spend a night with PapaS and his lovely wife in Mammoth to drink his wine and beers then on to Boise.

I'll still frequent the board and post some pictures of trouts from Kansas.

Mike I envy you. Kansas is great; hope to be there (or someplace out of California) eventually.

Mike,
Good to hear you made the move. We are heading to Kansas next month to spend a week and look around. I rented a home near downtown Boise and the greenbelt. I hope to see you and Jeff while I'm there.

Leaving Cali is a fine thing! Congrats, and our Airstream may end up in your driveway at some point.

Safe journey, Mike. You were the patient and very patient mentor I needed to get started in fly fishing. I will never forget those times on Bear, Santa Ana and Deep Creek. I thank you for that (and for visiting me when I had my heart attack in Loma Linda). You guys are going to have a wonderful new chapter in your book of life.

Hope most of the heavy lifting is over. Cathy and I will be visiting our neighbors in to the north in September, but I'll be in touch when we return.

Safe travels.
