I'm Back

Postby fish-on-bro » July 21st, 2012, 3:34 pm

Alot of you know me and I'm active on the site. I mostly have been posting on the saltwater section on kayak fishing SD Bay. Well on Friday the 13th I woke up doubled over in pain on my right side. So drove myself to urgent care, they did a CT scan and 2 hrs later I'm in a hospital bed with IV's hanging off me. Had diverticulitis with a small hole in my intestine. This was the most painful bout I have ever gone through. The only thing that was more painful was calling in sick on that Friday. I have worked for the same company for 36 years and have never called in sick once. I retire here real soon and was hoping to go my whole career without calling in sick. They let me out of the hopital last night, so I spent 7 days in the hospital and that was rough. Things are going my way now and hope to be fishing the bay real soon. I'm on a strict diet for now but hope to have a nice juicy steak real soon.

Glad to see your on the mend. That diverticulitis hurts something awful. I wouldn't wish it on my worse enemy. Well maybe my worse enemy but not my second worse enemy. On another note, 36 years and never calling in sick is major impressive. Your employer must be some good guys and I sincerely hope that they appreciate your dedication.

Dang. Glad to hear you are alright. The sick day record is impressive. I have guys who will call off just because they heard of a flu going around in another state...

It's good to hear you are on the mend! You can still be proud of your attendance record. It took a life threatening illness to make you call in. That sort of dedication isn't very common these days. Get back out fishing soon!

Chuck, What he said

Glad you are back in the swing of things. It truly is amazing how there are the few guys like you who never call in, and then those that call in seemingly every week. Different morals/ethics I suppose.

Get better!

I think what you really have is riverticulitis, which is caused by not going up to the east side often enough. Crowleyeculitis is associated with what is ailing you and if you are not careful Chuck this will turn into Mcgeenungitis or worst case hotcreekulitis. Dear God I hope that does not happen--you need a trip to the east side asap !!!!!!

A trip to the eastside and a steak, what could be better at getting rid of eastsideculitis :bananadance:
