Looks like I'll be able to make it. Is there a motel everyone is staying at? I read Holiday Inn Express was mentioned. I need to make reservations. We'll head up Friday after work so we wont have to get up too early in the morning on Saturday and sleep though the class like in high school.

We booked Friday and Saturday at the Vagabond, $67 per night. They have a nice breakfast and Denny's is next door. See everyone there on the 1st. This is going to be fun!

I have bad memories of this place as a kid. Very dirty, but big rooms and affordable. Maybe things have changed over 18 years, but I figured I should warn ya in case you didn't already know.

Thanks for the warning Mike but we stayed there last year and things have changed since you were a kid. The breakfast isn't all that spectacular but with oatmeal, yogurt, cereal, danish, juice, hard boiled eggs, and fruit it's not too bad. They have a microwave and refrigerator in the room too for after fishing beverages, if you like.

I stayed at the Vagabond two nights ago, my room was nice, cost was about $80 including taxes, no complaints here, and the continental breakfast in nice, and set up at 5:30 AM.

I took a a quick overnight day drive, left Burbank Friday afternoon, visited the Lancaster poppies, then drove up to Bishop, and arrived home yesterday afternoon. Sunrise on the Lower Owens was rather bland and boring, no clouds above the mountains, but it was the start of a nice day, until the wind kicked up. Fish were actively rising and swirling, but I got distracted by all of birds migrating through the area, and decided to leave my waders in the jeep, and chase the birds instead of the fish...

Hey Benny, we're gonna have a blast. I'll have my typical lens selection with me, and you can try them, as well as the underwater housing.

I think having a list of goals is wise... I want to shoot some macro close up shots of fish, as well as wide scenes that show the joy of fly fishing in the sierra, with and without fish...

Hey Rick, Thanks for signing up...

Craig, Awesome workshop graphic!

Benny, I forgot that you shoot Canon. If we see some bird action, you guys can stick a CF card in my camera and see how well the auto focus works....

I'll bring Nikon D200 and 300 cameras,
Lenses, Nikon 17-55 f/2.8, 70-200 f/2.8, 300mm with TC-14 (my favorite bird in flight setup), 60 and 200mm macro, and Sigma 105mm macro and 10-20 wide angle (which I typically use on the D200 underwater)
