The South Fork is 5000cfs near Onyk. That's an E ticket ride for some goldens to visit the browns and on into the lake over the spillway and last call Bakersfield.
400cfs is cooking for the South Fork I can't imagine 5000cfs.

Wow, some serious rain is coming down up in those part for sure.

I'm looking at the flows and the upper Kern is up to 20,715 cfs! Incredible amounts of rain must be falling up in the mountains.

So I finally took some pics of what the river looks like in Bakersfield right now. I still can't believe the upper flows, and f.y.i. the Kern sight has some pics of the river @ 13,000cfs.

Here is Patriots Park, there is normally water all over this place but NEVER this high.

Haven't seen the river this high since they lowered Lake Isabella and before that was in 1999 I believe. Hopefully all the dead bodies, needles, and trash will wash away with this storm. Think of it as a river cleansing storm.

If it keeps up, we'll see the pond at hwy119 (Taft Hwy) and Elk Hills Rd fill up allowing stripers back in the lwr, lwr, lwr Kern. Oh boy. Swanee will love it.

Finally looks as if the flows tapered off just a bit, 21,741cfs~> 21,686cfs~> 21,200cfs although not by much.

Guy posted on FB that they are having to evacuate people up there. Crazy stuff! How long before the river gets back to fishable levels?

The Kern through Bako has definately risen since yesterday. If you live in town take a drive over the 99 bridge, it's well worth the sight, eventhough it is ugly :D :D Any way to find out what the flows are through town?? I'm curious because it looks like the lower flows haven't changed a bit.

Today, notice nearly all the weeds from the 1st picture are now under water.

It's really moving, this is the highest I've ever seen it flowing through town.

This is nothing Rock, Swanee saw the winter of 82/83 when Tulare Lake became a lake again!!!  Now that was a sight to see. :o  Heard someone floated from Bako to the Bay area as in the old days. Flew over the area and it appeared to be Pyramid Lake Nv east of I-5! 209er
