We got a fair amount of snow last night and the plow came by sometime after I went to bed. You can only watch so much:
Once the satelite dish got snow covered and I was too lazy to go up onto the roof to clean it again, the dog and I turned in. The wife is staying down the hill until this storm abates. I have to admit, it's not too bad being able to drink wine, watch the fire, etc. Now if the dog would just quit talking so much........
Anyway, I got up this morning to about a 40 inch berm across the mouth of my driveway and another 18 inches of snow. Took me about 2 hours to blow it all clear.
Here are the AM shots:
Note that the old land cruiser is getting covered pretty good now.
My street. Pretty much impassible until the plow comes by.
Our swingset in the side yard. It's about 6.5 feet tall.
And the snow depth--Currently at 37.5 inches and still snowing lightly off and on. May end up at around 38 by 6:00 PM tonight. if..................
Without the rain, we would have ended up over 5 feet. AH, but rain is pretty common here in SoCal in the winter. Still, all in all, a very welcome storm.
BTW, I've found that wine helps with the shoveling, or at least, you don't feel as much pain. Both of these were good, and the one on the left--the Menage a Trois--is great for the price. Costco carries it for $7.49 a bottle. I laid in a case before this storm hit. The other was good also. A bottle one of my student's parents gave me for Christmas. Both go great with dark chocolate.
Well, off to my neighbor's house (her husband passed away in December) to help her dig out. I'll post the winners after 6:00 PM tonight.
