Good Soaking so far!

Postby John Harper » March 1st, 2015, 8:37 am

Been raining pretty heavily since 4AM. Already have a bit over an inch of rain here in Carlsbad. Some was really heavy, I'm sure the fire scorched hills behind my house will have some mud flowing.

Some heavy showers overnight in Rancho Bernardo, and it's been raining non-stop since I got up at 6:00 this morning. Hopefully, some of this will get up to the mountains and help out the creeks and streams.

Unlike the last storm we haven't gotten a drop yet here in the desert. Mammoth mountain is reporting 8-12 inches though. :)

We've received maybe 1/2 inch of snow in Running Springs--certainly not the 8-10 inches they were predicting. It's still lightly snowing but nothing to write home about.

Does anyone know if Big Bear is doing better? I saw on the news they were saying 8 - 12 inches.
Denny Crane: Ah. You can see them in there. Look at the crystal clear water. My fly went right by his nose. Eat it you picky *.

RS is about 14 miles from big bear and looking at the snow cams at Snow Summit it doesn't look like they've received a lot yet.

That's about 1 1/2" more than we received. Oh well, guess that's what you should expect when they call for 8-10".

We got our usual 10 minutes of rain last night around 4:30 to 4:40. I put off watering my yard last week waiting for this storm. I guess I'll have to get out and water today.
