When Salmon Return

Growing up in Nor Cal, Putah Cr. was where I got a lot of my early fly fishing experience. This neat report of an unusually strong salmon run (2015 on Putah) caught my attention. This recent flurry took place far downstream from where most people fish this stream for trout. What's really fun to observe in the video is the rainbows darting about for roe.

It's penned my one of my heroes Peter Moyle whose book "Inland Fishes of California" has been in my paws since the late 70s. It's a great read and the person behind the footage has a great blog; not to mention creative resume tied-in with that watershed. Here are the links:
