Thanks for letting me ride along Bob. I don't get to that part of the State anymore, so it's a real treat to see it through your report.

Great post Bob. I've always wanted to go up that first road in the winter, just to poke around some. I really enjoyed the pics. I have a new (to me) 0wt that really wants to stick it's nose out the window going up that road too. Can't wait til April.

Good times, Bob!!! Thanks for the fun report. I'd drive up that way just to see this awesome sign from bygone times:

Ate there once -- totally unmemorable.

I spent a week on the Big Sur river last fall, after the freshwater season closed. There was a killer series of pools behind the cabin we rented, and I grew fond of filling my pockets with breadcrumbs and "drifting" 'em to waiting fish. There was one nice-sized wild 'bow in there...she'd take chunks of bread in a single gulp (the dinks spent their energy breaking up the chunks).

I learned one thing: to get the perfect drift, you need to eliminate the flyline and rod. :)

Hey Matt (Buggravy), what's up bro?

Bob I thought I was the only one that does crazy drives like that when I finally get so fed up with being cooped up in Bakersfield!! Love the pics of the SFKR. It looks like you and your companions had a great day together, sometimes it's not all about the fishing :o :o , it's rare but sometimes that happens.
