Colorado Guide Recommendations?

Postby tomsakai » September 1st, 2016, 10:51 am

Thinking about a guide for the end of this month, one day in the Gunnison area and another for a day on the Frying Pan. Anyone have recommendations? Thanks.

You could call Chris Jackson 830-708-3474. He is an excellent guide and a friend of mine for years. (Go ahead and drop my name when you talk to him) He fishes both areas. He is up there all summer. I am not sure how long before he returns to Texas, but he can surely point you in the direction of someone who is if he leaves before then.
If you fish around Pagosa Springs call Joe Eichelberger (970-799-4957) is another excellent guide and I've been fishing with him for years. (again be a name dropper) The East Fork of the San Juan Ranch is just heaven and he has a bunch of Cutthroat water to explore too.

Yeah, on the Gunnison I could get by without a guide although I don't know about the guy I'm going with. ;) On the Frying Pan, I think I'd like a guide since I don't know that river at all (and there's so much in the area to explore).
